Having worn glasses and contact lenses at a young age, Dr. Murphy knew she wanted to be an optometrist! She graduated from the University of Missouri – Saint Louis College of Optometry in 1988, is a member of local and state optometric associations, and has been in private practice for over 25 years! With 10 years of dedicated service to the Crestwood community, Dr. Murphy specializes in primary eye care, contact lenses, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Maria Nguyen Tantsits

Optometrist

Dr. Tantsits has been a doctor at Primary Eyecare & Eyeware since July of 2020 when she graduated from the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry.  But Dr Tantsits was no stranger to our office as she had been working here as an optician for 5 years as she finished up her undergraduate degree at St. Louis University, and throughout her optometry school years. She has always been interested in private practice and has helped our office grow in so very many ways since she came on board.

Dr. Mary and Dr. Maria with their staff were all very accommodating and sweet during my visit with them. I went to a huge box chain store last year and they didn't fix my vision after telling them that road signs are unclear when I drive, so my vision has been slightly blurry ever since. Dr. Maria fixed my eyesight after the exam and I can finally see clearly! I picked out contacts and glasses and I'm so pleased with their kindness and compassion with what they do. Quite literally the best experience I've ever had going to the eye doctor. Everyone was so nice and helpful, they even figured out how to get my contacts for the lowest cost I've ever seen. The store is so cute and the positive and friendly atmosphere makes you feel like you're on a fun outing rather than an appointment to check off your to-do list. Highly recommend!
