Our commitment to eye health goes beyond routine eye exams as we utilize state-of-the-art technology for early detection, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. At our practice, we combine expertise with technology to ensure your eyes receive the comprehensive care they deserve.
Our Optos has been instrumental in detecting retinal diseases like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and medically induced retinal complications. Many of the life-changing images captured from our retinal camera include a brain tumor in a 13-year-old who was previously ignored by two ER doctors and Dr. Murphy’s ocular melanoma.
For early intervention in macular degeneration, we are proud to offer the AdaptDx, a revolutionary device enabling us to detect for subtle changes in your macula (area of sharpest vision in the retina) before patients begin experiencing symptoms and/or vision-threatening complications. This proactive approach allows us to provide timely diagnosis and management to preserve vision.
Additionally, we use the Macular Pigment Optical Density (MPOD) test to assess the amount of pigment underneath the macula to determine a patient’s risk for damage from blue light and early onset of macular degeneration and to tailor a personalized plan to enhance a patient’s macular health.
